Exercising and being active is one of the key elements of leading a healthy life.
However, there are different types of training that people can do. Many trainers and gym owners say that their method and way of doing things is best. But ultimately the person must decide what fits him or her best based on their personal needs.
This brings us to CrossFit!
Is it really for everyone?
A lot of people associate CrossFit with the hardest form of exercising imaginable and stir clear of it. But let’s break it down first, shall we?
What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a form of body training where you essentially move your body as if you would by doing everyday activities… But with added weight and difficulties.
Usual CrossFit exercises include squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and pull-ups. While the equipment used includes dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls.
The gym where you train CrossFit is usually called a “box” since they are mainly located in old warehouses.
The idea is to use multijoint exercises that work simultaneously on various points of your body. By doing one exercise you are exerting more parts, like legs, back, and abs, at the same time.
Misconceptions About CrossFit
People have certain misconceptions about CrossFit that are unnecessarily true. Most of it stems from popular culture and movies. Most people who train CrossFit are considered as physical specimens so a lot of regular people are intimidated by the fact of training CrossFit. They simply view it as something they cannot possibly do.
But what they don’t realize is that there are certain levels to CrossFit. A beginner is not going to do the same exercises as a professional athlete.
How Can a Person Benefit from CrossFit?

Even though it seems hard to do, CrossFit is a highly effective form of exercising. It allows muscle gain by allowing you to burn fat and lose weight at the same time.
Additionally, it builds up cardio and generally makes you fit.
Since CrossFit affects your whole body it is one of the best forms of exercising for people who want to look and feel good. But it is also great for people who don’t move a lot during the day and are in desperate need of physical activity.
Is CrossFit Really For Everybody?

While it is true that people with a certain body type would find CrossFit challenging for them, almost all people can do it.
People are afraid of injury or think that they are going to be laughed at if they are not able to do a certain exercise. The truth is much different.
Firstly, there are levels to this and beginners will start with smaller weights and easier exercises and build up towards harder ones.
Secondly, a CrossFit gym is a community, usually in small groups. People help and support each other so they can go through the training together.
My Thoughts
The way I see it, CrossFit is really good for you and if you are willing to work on yourself and your body, you should try it.
Exercising is a mental sport as much as it is physical, so sometimes it takes strong will and not just a strong body.
