Additional Data Download Help

Are you trying to download free data but keep getting sent to this page? If so, you are likely trying to get data from a section of our site that does not offer free downloads as an option. Generally, free data must be obtained from an area with the smallest level of geography - for example, go to county level data rather than state-wide coverages. Data provided as "bundles" are not downloadable due to the large file size.

Apparently it's a bit confusing, but the "download option info" and the related icons, are meant as a link to additional information about downloading data. Don't click on the "download option info" hyperlink in order to download data - it won't work! see image 1. IMAGE 1

If you're trying to access data that is available via free or premium download, a table similar to the one displayed in Image 2 will appear. Notice the description, file size, and the green and gold download icons appear in the table. Click on these icons to download the data, or, optionally you can add this data to your cart and we'll write it to CD-ROM and ship it to you.

If you've navigated to a section that does not have any data available for free download, the reson is that that particular data is a bundled product and is only available via CD-ROM. The page likely appears similar to Image 3 - notice there is no green and gold icons in the table. You'll need to step back and navigate your way to a finer level of geography (ie. go to a county rather than a State or bundled area)
